The ancient Gods and Goddesses are calling; to hear their call is a joy, an honour, and also a duty. If they are calling to you, it is time to take your place among friends and kin, and bring new honour and strength to our ancient Heathen faith.
We are proud of our Northern European Heritage and welcome guests who also share our love of Our Elder Kin; the Aesir and Vanir. If you are in agreement with our general beliefs, philosophy, principles, purposes and goals, then come out to meet us at one of our four formal gatherings a year for members to blot the Gods and Goddesses that are held throughout the year.
While we honour and respect each and every individual regardless of age, race, political affiliation, sexual orientation and socio-economic status, we of Ravenshof practice TRADITIONAL Odinism in the strictest sense. Like our ancient ancestors, we have our tribal spirituality directed in an ancestral, procreative and ecological nature. Unlike the Universalism of Christianity, the authentic practice of Odinism is and has always been the tribalistic ethnic religion of the Pan-Germanic peoples of Northern Europe and their descendants.
The Ravenshof Odinic Hearth is for our folk who honour the Old Gods & Goddesses of Northern Europe and seek to revitalize the Northern Way. It is a place to seek the path of our ancestors and embrace our spiritual heritage. Those who come with open honesty are welcome!
Our hearth has 2 levels of membership one can choose from;
Associate Members
Who can join our online forum, attend our gatherings and events but will have no official role in shaping the group or making decisions through a group vote.
Full Members
Are oathed into the group, devoted wholeheartedly to our Gods and Folk, have a vote on group decisions, actively work towards our group goals and contribute more than those at just the associate level. There is also a considerable discount on all our heathen heritage arts from our associated business.
BYLAWS FOR RAVENSHOF ODINIC HEARTH:
1) All full members must follow the Aesir and Vanir ONLY! This is where one of the nine virtues – fidelity – comes into play. Anyone who follows the Odinic faith and wishes to be a part of this Hearth is stating that they do not follow any other spiritual paths or worship & honour any other gods or Goddesses as that would be disloyal to OUR gods. We are true to the old ways, and we do NOT follow other Gods or paths.
2) Any legal age adult and their children may apply.
3) Any applicant who seeks full membership must be approved by a unanimous vote consisting of the full members of the Hearth.
4) A nine-month probationary period is required for all Hearth applicants who seek full membership with voting rights. During the probationary period, all prospective members must attend at least 2 Hearth gatherings.
5) All Hearth members, as well as Hearth prospective members must be gainfully employed or actively seeking full or part time employment. The Aesir and Vanir expect us to stand on our own two feet, and those we take in should be of similar character. Full time students, stay at home parents or those members or prospective members on any form of full physical disability, are excluded from this requirement.
6) All full members of Ravenshof Odinic Hearth are required to take an oath to honour the Gods & Goddesses and to the principles our group.
7) All inductions into our Hearth will take place at one of the following main yearly gatherings. Ostara in the spring and WinterFinding in the Autumn.
8) Any member of Ravenshof Odinic Hearth may relinquish membership in the Hearth at any time. If a member ceases to participate in Hearth activities or fails to communicate at all with the Hearth for a period of one year without good cause, the general membership may vote to remove said member from the Hearth by vote.
9) We are organized along tribal lines led by a Chieftain/Gothi, with a council of full members. All matters and other pertinent decisions will be discussed in council and a vote will be taken by the membership. Only full members can cast a vote in any Hearth decisions, with each full member casting one vote. The Chieftain/Gothi will cast the deciding vote in all matters. This is not a democratic organization per se, but one based on tribal principles as it was done by our ancient ancestors who governed with a council of Elders, hereby known as full members, and led decisively by its Chieftain/Gothi. All final matters in dispute will be resolved and decided upon by said Gothi.
10) Any member may call for a vote on decisions to be made concerning secular matters of the Hearth. With the exclusion of the unanimous vote required to accept a new member, decisions will be carried by a majority vote with the Chieftain/Gothi making the final decision.
11) All bylaws are open to exception on a case-to-case basis with a vote by the full members. These Bylaws may be altered, amended, or added to, by a two-thirds vote of the full membership and the approval of the Chieftain/Gothi.
12) Members must treat all other members with respect. Any attacks or slander based on gender, national origin, native language, financial standing, background, or appearance is in violation of the Human Rights Act and will not be tolerated.
13) Our procedure for removing any problematic members – A group discussion regarding the person in question, followed by a vote.
* In the rare case any severe offences such as violence, assault, etc. should occur, the law of the land prevails and proper authorities will be contacted
